Nashville Big Brothers

Second Harvest Food Bank

Today I spoke with Jaynee Day, CEO and President of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. She is terrific and I really enjoyed asking her about Second Harvest and their mission in Middle Tennessee. Their website is http://secondharvestmidtn.org and the program will air this Sunday at 7am. I'll post the link soon right here, so keep checking back. Also, if you're going to see Bruce Springsteen tonight at Sommet Center in Nashville, TN, be sure to check out the Second Harvest booth. Also, A portion of ticket proceeds will go toward Second Harvest!

Trees Nashville/Artrageous

So my first post here was after having the Arthritis foundation talk about their Bone Bash event at the Cannery Ballroom. We have been airing new episodes each week since then. Since the show airs at 7am central time on 100.1 FM in the Franklin, Nashville, TN area, and online at http://Lightning100.com I know posting the show here, so you can listen on demand is important. I hope as well in the coming months we will have a section on the radio station website about the show and maybe a link here. All in good time, right?!

Yesterday morning I aired a program with Christopher Armour. He is President of Trees Nashville. We talked about why Trees are important and the upcoming Tree planting this Saturday with the Nashville Tree Foundation.

Previously I spoke with the President of Artrageous 22. A benefit for Nashville Cares, recently held here in Middle Tennessee. They have done it for the past 22 years and will continue to host this event for many years to come. Here is a link to listen and it is currently also posted on their website http://www.artrageous.org/

New Tuned In blog

Your good friend, Lightning 100's Lt. Dan, will at least temporarily be taking on the Tuned In responsibilities. Tuned In is a public service show that airs Sunday morning at 7am on Lightning 100. 100.1 FM in Nashville and Franklin, TN. On the web at http://Lightning100.com I wanted to go ahead and setup this blog right away. This past Sunday's edition of Tuned In was with the Arthritis foundation. They have a really big fundraiser this Friday at the Cannery Ballroom called the Bone Bash. I will post my interview with them about that and two other events that are coming up in Williamson County. Including one that is tonight!
